Yishu YIN

Ph.D. Student

Yishu obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biological Science at Nanjing University in 2020. In her graduate year, she studied exercised-induced miRNA and its regulatory mechanism in insulin resistance. After graduation, she went overseas, and obtained her master’s degree in Biotechnology at Columbia University in the City of New York. Under Dr. Dietrich Egli’s supervision, she used human embryonic stem cells for diabetes modelling, and studied patient-derived insulin gene mutations in stem cell-derived pancreatic clusters. Yishu joined the Cheung lab in 2022 fall, she is now studying the mechanism of non-cellular blood factors in the regulation of muscle stem cell function.
