Alua received her bachelor's degree in Applied Biology with Biotechnology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2021. After graduation, she worked at a biotechnology start-up, where she optimised DNA testing procedures for cancer detection and biological age determination. Alua joined the Cheung lab in 2025 as a Research Assistant to study the mechanisms regulating muscle stem cell quiescence and aging.
