Mauricio received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2021. Previously worked on modeling problems for the 2019 HKUST iGEM team, he gained interest in tackling biological problems and eventually took up a minor in bioengineering together with his Mathematics degree. He joined the Cheung lab in February 2022 working at the Hong Kong Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases and he is interested in dealing with cell feature processing and analyzing single-cell omics data.
